zu meinen Arbeiten, 2022-2023
about my process, 2022-2023
Die Geschichte Maurinmühles ist etappenreich, schlecht dokumentiert und stark emotional aufgeladen. Sich für eine dunkle Phase zu entscheiden, heißt, den Fokus auf diese und weg von den anderen zu ziehen. Dabei waren für mich Fragen wichtig wie: Für wen gedenken wir hier eigentlich? Wer sind die Betroffenen? Welches Recht habe ich überhaupt irgendetwas über diesen Ort zu sagen? Aus den Fragen der Betroffenheit wurden Fragen der Heilung, dem Umgang mit Gedenken und Geschichte, der Vermittlung von Geschichte.
An diesem Punkt ist es wichtig einzuordnen, dass die Aufgabe von Kunst weder eine historische Recherche, noch die Illustration derer Ergebnisse ist. Was Kunst kann, ist auf emotionaler Ebene zu kommunizieren und Räume für Themen öffnen, die in unserem Alltag nicht genug Platz haben. Wir können Fragen aufwerfen.
Die Arbeit "DiY Gedenkstätte", 2022 in Schönberg ausgestellt, sollte als Gedankenanker für Fragen nach unseren Formen des individuellen sowie kollektiven Gedenkens fungieren.
"beim Wachsen zusehen" befindet sich in Maurinmühle und soll helfen, am Ort anzukommen, um anschließend weitergehen zu können.
The history of Maurinmühle has different stages, is poorly documented and highly emotionally charged. To decide for one phase means to turn the spot light on it and away from all the others. Although to me the important questions were: How do we mourn? Who are the affected people? What right do I have to say anything about that place at all?The questions of concern morphed to questions about healing, dealing with commemoration and history, imparting the history. At this point it is important to pin down the job of art, which is neither a historical research, nor their illustration. Art can communicate on an emotional level and create space for topics which are neglected in all day life.
The art work "Diy memorial", shown in Schönberg in 2022, ought to serve as an anchor for contemplations of our patterns
of individual and collective commemoration.
"watch it thriving" is located in Maurinmühle and shall help to approach the place, to subsequently be able to move on.

Tipp: Rituale helfen nicht nur bei der Instandhaltung der Gedenkstätte. Sie selbst können eine Form des Gedenkens sein.

Ich stehe im Grünen und kenne Geschichtsfetzen vom Hörensagen. Ich puzzle mir einen Überblick aus verschiedenen Dokumenten zusammen und projiziere mein vermeintliches Wissen auf einen Ort, an dem ich vorbei gefahren bin. Bin ich am richtigen Ort?
